My Phi Theta Kappa Story

Alpha Gamma Pi is the Austin Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Austin Community College, an International Honor Society that opened many doors for me on so many levels. Since my induction in 2014, I have learned many skills, held leadership roles, served my community, presented to the chapter and the alumni association, traveled, and have been blessed with amazing friendships. But none of this would have been possible if I did not choose to get involved. My first semester I stood on the sidelines and watched, the next semester, I walked through the open doors.

As a person who wears many hats, a nontraditional college student, and Phi Theta Kappa advocate, I encourage you to always seek and seize all opportunities. It will be the opportunities you take advantage of that will lead you to places you never thought you would go, giving you the experiences that help mold you into the person you are meant to be. I not only challenge you to get involved but am here to help and have fun along the way. Believe in yourself and believe that you can make a difference. My opportunities presentation.
